Artemis was previously part of the Princess Cruise Lines and was named Royal Princess. She became part of the P&O Cruise Lines in June 2005 and has the distinction of being the first British ship to be named at sea. Although this ship is the smallest of the fleet, it is very cozy and intimate. It is child-free and has all the amenities and facilities you would expect to see on a larger cruise ship. The best feature of this ship is that it only has outside cabins with either large picture windows or a balcony – the first ship to be built in this manner.
Size of Artemis
The Artemis measures 230 metres (754 feet) in length and is 32.2 metres (106 feet) wide. There are 8 passenger decks containing 594 cabins meaning that she can carry 1188 passengers on a regular basis. The maximum number of passengers is 1260. There are 537 crew members on board.
FacilitiesJust because the Artemis is smaller than most cruise ships you won't have to sacrifice any amenities. You can enjoy 4 bars and lounges, 2 restaurants, a theatre, salon and spa, library, a casino, shopping, and a gymnasium as well as strolling areas around the deck. The Atrium is located in the heart of the ship and is a beehive of activity. It consists of two levels, with the lower level called the Garden Court . It is conveniently located to give passengers easy access to reception, Celebrations, the tour office and the Coral Dining Room. The Tiffany glass ceiling is the crowning point of this location.
